Modes can be mysterious or one of your favorite musical tools. Let's unlock the mystery of modes together so you can start using them to make your piano playing more fun and more exciting.

We'll explore modes in three levels.

Easiest level - What is a mode? and how is it useful?

More Advanced - Here, we'll dive into a closer look at one of the most popular modes - Dorian.

Most Experienced - Lastly, we will dive into one of the more advanced modes and look at an ingenious way to use it. We will explore the Lydian mode and how it can be used in chord progressions and improvisation.

Learning online means you can go as slow or quick as you wish. You can pause, repeat and jump around. It gives you a lot of freedom to learn in your own unique way. Some parts of lessons you will do multiple times and that's OK, no one is watching! Enjoy!
